Duthie Ward's staff

Alastair Duthie studied law at Aberdeen University.  On completing his traineeship he was appointed as the partner in charge of the court department of an Aberdeen law firm.  He has experience of many areas of legal business and is one of Aberdeen’s leading solicitors dealing with property purchases and sales.  He was recently a member of the working party which completed and registered a standard form of contract for purchases and sales, available for use in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire.

He is also a keen musician and a keen sportsman and outdoor pursuits enthusiast!

Richard Ward studied law at Edinburgh University. He has lived and worked in Aberdeen since 1979. Richard has more than 25 years experience of family law, and is accredited by the Law Society of Scotland as a family law specialist.

In 1993, he was one of the first solicitors in Scotland to train as a family law mediator and was a founding member of CALM (Comprehensive Accredited Lawyer Mediators).  In 2004 he was in the first group of solicitors in Scotland to train in Collaborative Family Law.

Richard is a member of the Family Law Association, a group of family lawyers in Scotland which encourages the sensitive, efficient and economic handling of disputes and reaching solutions which are fair to all members of the family.

Anne Cassidy also studied law at Edinburgh University. She qualified as a solicitor in 1991 and has been with Duthie Ward since 1994 and an associate since 1996. Anne has specialised in family law for a number of years and was also in the first group of solicitors in Scotland to train in Collaborative Family Law.

Anne is also a member of the Family Law Association.
